Position: Before and/or After School Program Management Director

Must Have

  • Two (2) years of childcare and supervisory/leadership experience
  • Must have a FCCPC and Florida Credential or be willing to enroll within 90 days of employment and complete within 1 year of enrollment
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred
  • B.S. or B.A. degree preferred
  • YMCA experience preferred

Job Description

This position is responsible for supporting the general administration of School Age Programs for before and after school care at selected school sites. This position leads the training and orientation of all School Age Program Staff in the Region by serving at training sites. Responsibilities also include the day‑to‑day general administration of a program including the safety of all children, staff supervision, budgeting, expense control, income generation, program development and quality control, community relations, collaborations, long‑range planning and facility maintenance.

The Youth Development Program Management Director also provides direction and leadership for the achievement of Association goals in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the Board.

High Quality Programs, Services and Facilities
  • Direct and administer total operation of the School Age Program sites assigned including the interpretation and execution of established policies, the development of procedures and methods, staffing, evaluation of the effectiveness of the programs and operation
  • Assure that a wide variety of programs and activities are provided that maximize the site, support the cause and enhance program participants
  • Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct. Ensure the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment by keeping supplies organized, maintain and clean facility and care for equipment
  • Promote and monitor membership and/or program growth, taking a leadership role in membership cultivation and retention
  • Assure facilitated activities are safe, engaging and age appropriate for program participants
  • Responsible for reviewing all records and data on each child, employee and volunteer to maintain accuracy
  • Responsible for handling all emergency incidents and submitting proper documentation that may occur in programs, using mature, sound judgment
