Palm Harbor Teacher

We are looking for an experienced PREK teacher to join our team! At Harbor View Creative Learning Center, you will create an age‑appropriate lesson plan, build relationships with families, maintain cleanliness throughout your classroom, update parents through our daily reports, and show patience and kindness to children.

Pay starts between $16.00 - $18.00 based on education and experience. Ongoing pay raises for all employees are awarded based on meeting program standards and expectations. • Sick Pay will be accrued for a maximum of 48 hours, applied to each employee's policy, and paid out for absences due to illness each calendar year. Sick pay hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
• Holiday pay will be paid based on your individual average hours worked and will be paid after your 60‑day probationary period.

• We will help you obtain your CDA (Child Development Associate)

• Develop a fun and creative lesson plan suitable for age group
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self‑esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc.).
• Track children's progress and report to parents
• Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche.
• Collaborate with other educators.
• Help each child with potty training
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.

• Experience working in a licensed childcare facility
• 45 DCF Training Hours (one year to complete)
• CDA (not required)
• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
  
  Ability to act as a mediator between children
• Cool‑tempered, friendly, and reliable
• Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
