At at Cause Law Office, our Receptionist is the welcoming face of our mission to deliver compassionate, transparent, and high-quality legal services. Guided by our Purpose—To help businesses, families, and individuals become more aware, more causative, and more in control of their legal circumstances, leading to their success, expansion, and prosperity—the Receptionist creates a positive first impression for clients and supports the smooth operation of our Probate, Medicaid, and Estate Planning departments.
They lead with professionalism and empathy, fostering a collaborative, non-stuffy environment while ensuring exceptional client experiences in alignment with our people-first philosophy.
- Greet clients and visitors professionally, creating a welcoming environment.
- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Schedule appointments, consultations, and meetings for attorneys and staff.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and courier services.
- Maintain a tidy and professional reception area.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as data entry, document preparation, and filing.
- Manage office calendars and conference room bookings.
- Ensure compliance with law firm policies and procedures, including confidentiality protocols.
- Provide general support to attorneys and staff to ensure smooth office operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field preferred. - 1+ years of experience as a receptionist, administrative assistant, or similar role, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Ability to gain familiarity with legal terminology or processes in probate, Medicaid, or estate planning.
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and multi-line phone systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client, visitor, and team interactions.
- Professional demeanor with a compassionate, client-focused mindset, aligning with at Cause’s people-first philosophy.
- Ability to handle sensitive client matters, such as health crises or bereavement, with empathy and discretion.
- Adaptability to thrive in a non-stuffy workplace culture and support multiple departments.
Must speak English. Must have solid written and verbal communication skills, the ability to pay attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Physical Requirements- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk (6 to 8 hours a day).
- Utilizing a computer for extended periods at a time.
- Occasional lifting of files or materials up to 20 lbs.
- This role starts at $17.
- PTO and Sick Days after 90 days.
