Salary

Minimum Biweekly Rate of Pay: $1,491.85 Bi-Weekly (if the appointment is an internal promotion, the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever is higher).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process all recruitment and selection documentation to ensure compliance, including People First – Talent Management Requisition s, Veteran’s Preference, Human Resource Employment System (HRES), onboarding, drug screening, background screening, ergonomic screening, and new hire orientation.
  • Review and process human resource matters to ensure departmental rules, policies, procedures, and statutes are followed, including grievances, discipline, workers’ compensation, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action guidelines, ADA, FMLA, Family Supportive Work Program (FSWP), and Fair Labor Standards.
  • Serve as the facility's administrative support to the Facility Operations, Assistant Detention Center Superintendent(s), and Detention Superintendent by assisting personnel with documentation for attendance and leave, fitness for duty, disciplinary action, drivers’ license, alternate duty, and quality improvement.
  • Provide technical assistance and consultation to the Detention facility personnel, administration, and regional office regarding all human resource matters, keeping abreast of policies and procedures to ensure facility compliance.
  • Handle payroll-related and attendance and leave functions, review timesheets for accuracy, and use People First and Time-Guardian systems to manage over payments.
  • Prepare correspondence, coordinate conference calls, meetings, and trainings related to human resource matters within the facility.
  • Conduct fingerprinting of employees, candidates, and volunteers and maintain the Live-scan device.
  • Maintain facility employee files (performance appraisals, position descriptions, discipline, letters of commendation) and prepare facility organization charts outlining reporting relationships of all positions assigned.
  • Disseminate personnel-related information to staff, provide orientation to new employees, and serve as backup to the facility Fiscal Liaison on all finance and accounting matters.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Juvenile Justice laws and policies.
  • Knowledge of detention services policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
  • Knowledge of supervisory techniques.
  • Knowledge of system-wide resources.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to compile, organize, and analyze data.
  • Ability to analyze the effectiveness of service programs.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to utilize problem‑solving techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to candidate profiles submitted with Administrative and/or Human Resource working experience.
