Job Summary

  • Performs diagnostic imaging on patients using established medical imaging procedures.
  • Reviews and evaluates quality controls and quality assurance to ensure imaging and instrumentation results are reported accurately and reflect patient status.
  • This position is represented by RCHEA.

  • LINE OF AUTHORITY:
    Mammography Lead - Director of Medical Imaging
Licenses and Certifications
  • BLS Certification following American Heart Association guidelines required (no other cards accepted).
  • CRT, AART, Mammography Certification required.
  • Registered with the State of California.
  • State of California Fluoroscopy Permit: preferred.
Education And Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to organize and maintain good follow-up.
  • Good communication skills.

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching above shoulders, sitting, walking inclines and declines, standing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus. May lift up to 50 pounds.
  • POTENTIAL EXPOSURE TO BLOOD & BODY FLUIDS:
    Category 3 for potential exposure; no procedures requiring exposure are required for employment. Tasks involve routine handling of implements or utensils and general patient contact.
Job Role s
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care based on age-appropriate criteria.
  • Adheres to the Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct.
  • AGES SERVED (b):
    Child, Adolescent, Adult Geriatric. Assess data and provide age-appropriate care.
  • Assists Radiologist with imaging procedures.
  • Coordinates area purchasing activities and stock levels.
  • Coordinates Breast Cancer Month activities.
  • Coordinates preparation for regulatory compliance activities in the mammography department.
  • Develops knowledge of PACS and mammography reporting system.
  • Evaluates image quality and techniques; assists staff with new procedures.
  • Delegates responsibilities to designated staff members.
  • Helps coordinate work assignments and requests for imaging services and hospital routine.
  • Operates imaging equipment to produce radiographs; selects proper technical factors.
  • Participates in hospital-wide quality assurance program.
  • Participates in On-Call assignments and schedule changes as needed.
  • Performs required computer tasks and manages orders, status changes, charges, and electronic medical records.
  • Plans and evaluates staffing and budget parameters.
  • Practices sterile technique and universal precautions.
  • Maintains and protects equipment; may recommend modifications or new equipment.
  • Respects delegated areas of authority in procedures.
  • Positions patients and transports as required.
  • Willing to perform other duties as assigned.
