Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, we touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design, manufacturing, and distribution. As a Team Lead, you will assist the manager in leading team members, coordinating workflow and overseeing day‑to‑day operations in the warehouse, promoting cooperative relationships, establishing priorities, gathering metrics, generating reports, and overseeing work for multiple job classifications.

Occasionally, you will perform various warehousing functions at a Caterpillar warehouse/distribution facility.

Available Shift:
Second Shift, Monday‑Friday 3:00 pm‑11:00 pm

Location:
Clayton, OH

Ability to work overtime when required.
Must be in good standing in both attendance and performance.

What You Will Do
  • Operate heavy equipment including sit‑down forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, and overhead hoists. Perform material handling and warehousing functions such as unloading, sorting, putting away, picking, packing and shipping parts, materials, and supplies.
  • Lead meetings with a multifunctional team to track performance and drive results, guiding daily priorities and change management.
  • Interface with customer and coordinate the voice of customer to the logistics team to improve processes and lead investigations on customer‑reported defects.
  • Coordinate with logistics and external carriers to set up expedited shipments and oversee management of zones through targeting aged inventory, leading reconciliation, and investigating root cause.
  • Lead problem‑solving events to drive continuous improvement and continuously manage a training matrix to ensure team flexibility.
  • Accountable for tracking quality metrics and meeting Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost goals while demonstrating safety excellence and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform physical duties such as lifting up to 49 lb. individually or up to 70 lb. as a team lift, standing up to 8+ hours per day on concrete, climbing ladders of 6 ft. with handrails, and working in an environment with changing temperatures and noise levels averaging up to 85 db over 8 hours.
What You Have
  • Safety:
    Conduct daily equipment maintenance, track safety logs, inspect work areas, use personal protective equipment, and raise safety concerns appropriately.
  • Warehouse Management:
    Direct, lead, and perform basic warehousing activities such as receiving, putting away, picking, packing, and shipping merchandise. Maintain inventory records and minimize bottlenecks.
  • Customer Service Management:
    Demonstrate an understanding of service‑organization values, keep the customer as the focal point of team activity, and seek help as needed.
  • Coaching Others:
    Apply coaching to help others improve skills, observe skill practice, offer constructive feedback, and create skill‑practice opportunities.
  • Effective Communications:
    Use verbal and non‑verbal communication, maintain focus, lead process‑improvement dialogues, and demonstrate empathy and assertiveness.
Summary Pay Range

$20.29 – $26.36 per hour
