Position

Description:

The District Supervisor at United Dairy Farmers is responsible for oversight, leadership and management of 6-9 stores assigned. The primary responsibility is to ensure the delivery of outstanding service to every Guest across each store by following the five phases of The Hi Five Guest Experience (Invited, Welcomed, Well-Served, Respected, Fulfilled), including ensuring stores maintain a UDF standard of excellent store conditions.

The District Supervisor ensures the safe and efficient operation of all stores within the district while complying with all laws and regulations and company policies. District Supervisors are also responsible for coaching and developing our associates and ensuring each store management team focuses on development.

Responsibilities
  • Directing Store Management Teams: monitor daily activities; coach The Hi Five Guest Experience; train associates personally or oversee their training by others; make recommendations for promotions, demotions, suspensions or separations.
  • Overall Guest Services:
    Ensure stores provide the signature UDF Hi Five Guest Experience. Analyze guest experience and Quality Assurance scores to determine baseline levels of service and quickly respond to areas of improvement.
  • Stocking Merchandise:
    Oversee processes to keep shelves, displays, milk box and freezers full and presentable; ensure dip cabinet is filled; ensure coffee pots and ice dispensers are full; proper rotation of stock and check for out-of-code dates.
  • Dip Side Guest Services:
    Ensure each store is prepared in hand-dipped ice cream operations based on company standards.
Leadership & People Development
  • District & Store Staffing:
    Participate in recruitment, interviewing and selection of store associates. Ensure efficient use of labor hours and optimize labor within the district.
  • People Management:
    Maintain an upbeat, positive management style that fosters engagement and teamwork in a family-run environment.
  • Provide timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; develop associates and provide opportunities for growth.
  • Develop talent pools, recognize and reward accomplishments, and ensure bench strength and succession planning where applicable.
  • Hold direct reports accountable for performing the same functions with their own teams; increase associate engagement through surveys.
  • Grow and develop Store Leadership teams and offer opportunities to shadow or cover the District Supervisor role as needed.
Store Operations
  • Inventory Control:
    Ensure stores are stocked; maintain accurate records; participate in quarterly audits.
  • Security:
    Minimize shoplifting and gas drive-offs; manage cash with proper procedures; coordinate with Security on investigations.
  • Point of Sale System and Gas Console:
    Ensure proper authorization and control of gas sales; handle transactions and changes; coordinate with Corporate Fuel team on pricing.
  • Adherence:
    Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and applicable laws; resolve associate issues; accurate time records.
  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare and analyze district results; monitor pricing, merchandising and advertising; respond with actions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Five or more (5+) years’ experience managing managers and/or direct reports
  • Previous experience in a QSR or C-store environment preferred
  • Previous Multi-Unit retail store management preferred
