Position Summary

Directs and guides members of management and hourly associates on proper customer service approaches and techniques by modeling excellent customer service. Drives the financial performance of the facility by confirming that budgeted sales, wages and other expenses are achieved. Assists the store manager in leading the management team in controlling expenses and wages to ensure expenses are indexed to sales. Creates and implements plans to improve the financial performance of the facility, creates budgets to align with business needs and analyzes economic trends and community needs for budget forecasting.

Participates in community outreach programs, encourages associates to serve as good members of the community, and represents the company to external organizations. Directs facility operations by setting the standard for appropriate service levels, teaching and developing effective merchandise presentation, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing, proper signage, maintaining in‑stock inventory levels, and requesting merchandise to meet community needs. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, delegating business objectives effectively, and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.

Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects, identifies customer and operational needs, develops and communicates business plans and priorities, removes barriers, provides resources, identifies performance standards, measures progress, and adjusts performance accordingly. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and ethics and ensures compliance.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 1 year’s general management experience, including financial accountability.
  • 2 years of college; or 1 year of retail experience and 1 year supervising 10 associates; or 2 years general work experience and 1 year supervising 10 associates.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition, current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility is required.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training is required.
  • Associates must attend and complete all job‑required trainings and assessments, e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 20 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
