This role offers the chance to contribute to veteran care while enjoying competitive compensation and a supportive team environment.
In this position, you will perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans, primarily conducting interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments. You will work independently in your own office setting, performing exams within designated geographic areas, with flexible scheduling options including half or full-day shifts.
Required Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure in North Carolina
- Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related fields
- Strong assessment and interviewing skills
- Ability to perform physical range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Excellent organizational and report-writing skills
- Reliable transportation and ability to operate within assigned geographic radii
Skills:
- Prior experience with Compensation and Pension evaluations
- Knowledge of veteran healthcare requirements
- Certification in occupational health or related areas
- Familiarity with federal and state healthcare guidelines
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine
- Prior experience in a virtual or independent assessment setting is advantageous
- Own office space within the specified radius areas
- Ability to pass credentialing and onboarding swiftly
- Willingness to complete periodic administrative follow-up work
- Travel expenses are included within the rates; no additional reimbursements for certifications or training costs
