Required Skills:

Valid Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina
Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
Ability to perform compensation and pension exams and separation health assessments
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage documentation efficiently

Nice to Have

Skills:

Prior experience with veterans’ health assessments or government contractors
Familiarity with malpractice or certification requirements related to veteran health evaluations
Experience using telehealth or electronic medical records systems

Preferred

Education and Experience:

Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in primary care or general medicine
Previous experience conducting Compensation & Pension exams is advantageous but not mandatory

Other Requirements:

Own office location within specified radius for each assignment
Willingness to travel locally as needed for mobile assessments
Certification in basic life support (BLS) preferred
Must be comfortable performing interview-based exams with some physical assessments; no prescribing or treatment involved
Availability on scheduled days, with flexibility for additional shifts as needed
