Summary

Reporting to the Director Indirect Procurement for Indirect Procurement Facilities and/or Engineering, the Site Manager - Indirect Procurement - Facilities & Engineering is responsible for implementing and developing the strategy jointly with Category Leaders. This role involves controlling and coordinating the daily activities of the category team to ensure the fulfillment of tactical and operational objectives.

Primary responsibilities for role:

  • Implement the category strategy.
  • Coordinate daily activities of the category team.
  • Ensure fulfillment of tactical and operational objectives.
  • Identify and address operational issues promptly.
  • Manage category budgets and financial performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Engage with suppliers to negotiate terms and improve procurement processes.
  • Assist the Category Manager with specific tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to established standards and procedures.
  • Provide technical and detailed support for decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all category activities.
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in the implementation of new tools and technologies.

Functions and tasks

  • Strategy Implementation:
    Execute the strategic plans set by the Category Leader.
  • Team Coordination:
    Oversee daily activities and ensure team alignment.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    Track and report on category performance.
  • Issue Resolution:
    Quickly address and resolve any operational issues.
  • Cost Management:
    Monitor and control category expenses.
  • Supplier Engagement:
    Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Training and Development:
    Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Process Improvement:
    Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Skills/Qualifications/

Education Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
  • Must have knowledge and application of work standards (GMP, PNT, INS, BPL, etc...) according to defined procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Analytical skills to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Experience with a Facilities, Engineering and/or MRO spend portfolio
  • Understanding of category management development, contracting, RFX processes

  • Demonstrates successful track-record of driving performance across a complex matrix within a global enterprise and can influence and optimize operating models for his/her functional area
  • Ability to influence strategically, solve problems using conceptual and analytical thinking and constructively work through conflict
  • Familiarity with the latest research and market trends
