We are seeking experienced Locum Nurse Practitioners to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Missouri. This is a unique opportunity to work independently, utilizing your expertise to support veterans while enjoying flexible schedules and competitive compensation.
In this vital role, you will conduct interview-based assessments and physical evaluations, focusing on helping veterans receive the benefits they deserve. You will operate within your own office locations, with the flexibility of working half-day or full-day shifts, offering a significant work-life balance. Required Skills:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license with certification in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related fields
- Valid DEA and state licensing credentials
- Experience in general medicine, with familiarity in assessment and evaluation procedures
- Strong communication skills, detail-oriented, and able to complete documentation efficiently
- Ability to perform physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Competency in interview-based evaluations with minimal supervision
Skills:
- Prior experience performing Compensation & Pension exams
- Background working with veterans or in federal healthcare programs
- Knowledge of medical documentation and report writing
- Familiarity with telemedicine or remote assessment tools
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or similar fields
- Previous experience in military or veteran healthcare settings is advantageous
- Own or have access to a private office within a 50-mile radius of assigned locations
- Willingness to travel to multiple sites within Missouri
- Ability to complete exams on a PRN basis with ongoing availability
- Successful credentialing and onboarding process
- No prescription authority required; exams are interview and physical assessment-based only
- Hourly Rate: $600 for half-day (up to 4 hours), $1200 for full-day (5+ hours)
- One-time bonus of $650 upon completing training and first exams
- Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit
