Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for serving our nation's heroes? VHS, in partnership with Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), is seeking experienced and committed General Medicine Providers to perform vital Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Missouri. This opportunity offers flexible PRN shifts, allowing you to contribute meaningfully while maintaining your professional and personal commitments.
In this role, you will conduct interview-based assessments and physical evaluations, including range of motion and muscle strength testing, with no prescribing or treatment responsibilities. Your expertise will directly impact veterans’ benefits determinations, making a tangible difference in their lives. The position offers a competitive flat-rate pay structure, weekly pay via direct deposit, and comprehensive medical benefits (W-2). Required Skills:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license
- Prior experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related fields
- Strong assessment skills, including interview techniques and physical exam proficiency
- Ability to perform compensation and pension exams and health assessments
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently within designated regional areas
- Experience with veterans' health assessments or compensation exams
- Familiarity with government contracting procedures and documentation
- Additional certifications relevant to general medicine or assessments
- Master's degree or higher in Nursing or related healthcare field
- Minimum of 1-year clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner
- Prior experience with compensation and pension evaluations is advantageous
- Own a qualified office location within a 50-mile radius of the designated cities
- Availability for flexible PRN schedules, including half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts
- Willingness to complete required credentialing and onboarding processes promptly
- Travel reimbursements included in pay rates where applicable
