Position: Corrections Program Development Coordinator (P.A.C.E)

Serve as the PACE Program Liaison between St. Louis County Department of Justice Services and St. Louis Community College (“STLCC”). Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement correctional Progress Attained through College Education (“PACE”) program.

This position is grant funded and is available until 9/30/2027 but is subject to renewal so long as grant funds are available.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the Program Liaison to oversee the PACE program.
  • Facilitate the program including but not limited to the selection of resident‑students.
  • Provide space and equipment needs for resident‑student admission, testing, coursework, studying, tutoring, and meetings with students.
  • Serve as liaison between St. Louis County Department of Justice Services and STLCC.
  • Collect resident‑student transcripts on behalf of the students.
  • Monitor the PACE program.
  • Serve as the on‑site contact for STLCC faculty who experience issues.
  • Identify classrooms and ensure technology and course material meet the needs of instruction necessary for the course.
  • Ensure any payment authorizations are completed and returned to STLCC.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders for program planning, development, and implementation.
  • Participate in regular meetings.
  • Other essential duties assigned to ensure program success.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Conduct interviews and assessments to identify the specific needs of residents and tailor programs accordingly.
  • Make appropriate referrals to community agencies and other professionals and assist with case management for residents participating in correctional programming.
  • Monitor resident progress in programs.
  • Work with professionals, community agencies and other stakeholders to address resident needs and ensure program effectiveness.
  • Respond to inquiries about correctional programs.
Qualifications

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree and one year of related experience.

Selection and Appointment

A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant’s education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job‑related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above.

The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant’s earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After the initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire.

Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire. The five top‑ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision. All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory.

The cost of screening will be covered by the County.
