Scope & ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Financial Data Analyst is responsible for leading advanced analytical efforts by transforming complex data into actionable insights, and influencing strategic decision-making across the organization. The role operates at both a technical and strategic level, partnering closely with leadership, business stakeholders, and Hoffmann Family team members.
Core initiatives revolve around building and maintaining financial and non-financial relational databases. This includes core accounting data, capital structure inputs, legal entity characteristics, management key performance indicators, and implementing and preserving direct system access through in-house application programming interfaces. Finally, the results will need to be presented in repeatable reports and visualization outputs from tools like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Microsoft Excel.
This position is primarily in-person, with the opportunity for hybrid down the line, at the Hoffmann Family of Companies office in Clayton and includes occasional day trips to portfolio companies across the United States, with rare overnight travel requirements. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the role in alignment with their strengths and interests, while receiving executive support to drive new initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Create and maintain relational databases and ensure data integrity and consistent inputs.
- Develop flexible visualizations of aggregated datasets.
- Support reporting integration through direct system access to portfolio companies.
- Build Python-based automation and analytical tools and expand functionality of Microsoft Copilot enabled office systems.
- Review monthly results and assess earnings quality, margins, and budget variances.
- Support management initiatives with ad hoc financial analysis and projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis or enterprise systems.
- Experience designing, managing, and optimizing databases.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Experience developing analytics and reporting solutions in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, or Tableau.
- Ability to translate analysis into clear findings and actionable recommendations for executive audiences.
- Time management skills to manage multiple projects for various portfolio-wide initiatives.
