Bridge Engineer; Project Manager III

St. Louis County Department of Transportation and Public Works invites a dedicated, energetic Bridge Engineer to join the Bridge Engineering and Inspection team. The Bridge Engineer will manage project management for federal and county funded bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects, complete in-house design plans and calculations, perform bridge inspections and review engineering calculations and design plans as a licensed professional engineer for the Department.

The starting salary will be between $68,993 and $82,748 annually and will be based on experience and qualifications.

• Manage federal and county funded bridge/structural replacement projects from conceptual design through bidding.
• Seal design plans and calculations following current AASHTO, MoDOT and Department of Transportation Design Codes/Policies.
• Create and review complex plans and design calculations for bridge and culvert projects.
• Inspect county bridges and culvert on an annual basis including element‑level and safety inspections per Federal Highway Administration.
• Meet with staff or other assigned professionals to discuss project status.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements: licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Missouri Board of Professional Engineers and 5 years of practical experience. A current, valid driver’s license is also required.
