First State Military Academy is a cadet‑led program that emphasizes character, citizenship, and leadership development. Primary Responsibilities- Instruct cadets on how to safely perform various physical activities
- Design programs to educate cadets on how physical activity benefits the muscles and overall health
- Plan activities that help make exercise‑based learning more engaging for students
- Maintain attendance and other records
- Oversee the safety of the facility or area in which the assigned activity is being conducted
- Perform and enforce discipline, sportsmanship, and safe behavior at all times
- Maintain discipline and authority over students according to the First State Military Academy Discipline Policy Manual
- Perform other duties as assigned by the athletic director that relate to this position
The successful candidate will have excellent people skills, be self‑motivated, and have a passion for education and improving the education of all cadets.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a State of Delaware Certification in Physical Education
- Valid State of Delaware Teaching License, or eligibility to obtain one
- Satisfactory criminal background check before being placed on payroll
- Satisfactory child protection registry check
- TB Test
- Mandatory direct deposit of pay
Salary will be calculated based on the First State Military Academy salary schedule
