Position: ASSISTANT PROGRAM DIRECTOR

The Assistant Program Director supports daily operations of a behavioral health program serving individuals with mental health, substance use, and co‑occurring conditions. The role helps ensure high‑quality, trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented services while maintaining compliance, supporting staff, and promoting participant engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Program Oversight — Assist with daily program operations, scheduling, and service delivery. Ensure compliance with licensing, Medicaid, and behavioral health regulations. Support incident reporting, risk management, and quality improvement.
  • Staff Support — Help recruit, onboard, and train staff. Provide coaching and support during crises or complex cases. Contribute to team meetings and promote a collaborative, trauma‑informed culture.
  • Program Development — Support implementation of interventions, groups, and wellness activities. Participate in audits, evaluations, grant projects, and process improvement.
  • Participant Engagement — Build supportive professional relationships. Assist with care coordination, engagement, and retention efforts. Address participant needs and promote a safe, respectful environment.
  • Administrative & Compliance — Assist with budgeting, documentation, billing support, and reporting. Maintain accurate records in EHR systems and prepare required reports. Coordinate with internal departments and represent the program externally. Strengthen relationships with referral sources and community partners.
Requirements
  • 2+ years in behavioral health, social services, or program management.
  • Knowledge of trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented care and confidentiality standards.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR systems.
Additional Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid billing and behavioral health regulations.
  • Experience with underserved or high‑need populations.
  • Knowledge of local behavioral health systems and community resources.
