Automotive Technician
Duration: 1-year contract (+ extensions)
Location: Clawson, MI
Hours / Shift: 1st shift M-F 6AM-2:30PM, can start at 7AM for flexibility if needed
Work Style: Onsite – can work remote 1 day a week Monday or Friday once the technician is fully trained
Must Haves- HS Diploma
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience as an automotive technician
- 2+ ASE Certifications
- Experience using any CAD for vehicles or auto service VR programs
- Associate's degree in automotive technology or related field
- ASE Master certification
The Mechanical Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and serviceability of vehicle repair documentation and procedures. This position is responsible for validating service manuals and technical repair processes to confirm they can be executed exactly as written in real‑world conditions. The technician will analyze, time, and optimize repair procedures, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
This hands‑on role involves fully disassembling and reassembling vehicles to verify the feasibility and clarity of each documented step. The technician will also maintain and update a comprehensive procedure tracker, ensuring all service operations are thoroughly tested, reviewed, and aligned with engineering and service requirements.
Responsibilities- Perform on‑vehicle validation of service procedures
- Identify errors and possible optimizations within service procedures
- Perform time studies of removal and installation procedures
- Document validations and time studies
- Document and communicate project status to leadership as required
- Perform special assignments as requested
Compensation:
$20/hr to $25/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
