This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast-tracking” into a Store Management position. This role requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six (6+) months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the store, promoting a positive/productive environment, leading and developing store employees, recruiting and retaining top talent, maximizing financial goals, and managing Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction. This position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment.

You will analyze store financial statements to ensure goals are met and participate in asset protection, store promotion, and customer acquisition. Employees work with a variety of items, including jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, and firearms in FFL locations where applicable. This position offers an hourly wage plus potential commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
  • Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company-prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, manage cash drawers, merchandise, and asset protection procedures.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer store processes, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and reporting.
  • Evaluate store financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes for value and integrity of loans.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development.
  • Communicate with employees to ensure understanding of the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
  • The Assistant Store Manager may act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform duties for extended periods (standing, walking, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification where applicable.
  • Minimum Age: 18;
    High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays; 45+ hours per week; multi-location work as needed.
  • Computer literate; able to operate POS systems.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Cash handling experience; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.

Commission Plan

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Store Manager Trainees have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on personal gross profit. Additional details provided during interview.
