General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers, treats fellow associates with respect, follows company best‑practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform additional tasks as business needs require.

Essential Functions
  • Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in everything you do.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment on the sales floor, keeping egress clear and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy, and stay friendly and professional at all times.
  • Assist customers in all ways necessary – register‑trained, merchandise assistance, answering questions, greeting and saying thank you at each transaction.
  • Handle customer service calls immediately and manage customer issues courteously, calling leadership when needed.
  • Represent and support the company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, disinfecting high‑touch areas).
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
  • Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery per best practice to keep the store well‑maintained and merchandised.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the floor with urgency, merchandising per monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Understand loss‑prevention awareness, the Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty, safeguarding confidential information, cash, cards and merchandise.
  • Follow Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock policies and notify leadership on disposals.
  • Follow cash and transaction procedures, maintaining accuracy with bankable tenders.
  • Demonstrate urgency and maximize productivity by executing best practices and minimizing workflow steps.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
  • Communicate with customers, associates and leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative manner.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations common in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC.
  • Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100 % of the time.
  • Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
  • Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
  • For Stockroom shifts: push, pull, and lift more than 20 lbs regularly.
