Freight/Receiving role at The Home Depot – responsibilities include stocking the store and ensuring it’s ready for business each day, loading and unloading trucks, moving material from the receiving area to the store, and may involve operating forklifts. Direct customer interaction is common in some positions, and strong customer service skills are required. The Freight/Receiving roles may include Freight Team Associate, Freight Team Lead, Receiving Associate, and Receiving Support.
Responsibilities- Load and unload trucks
- Move material from the receiving area throughout the store
- Operate forklifts where permitted
- Maintain proper on-hands and pricing for our customers
- Provide direct customer service as needed
- Assist with restocking and merchandising as required
- Excellent customer service skills (direct customer interaction required for some roles)
- Able to load/unload heavy items and operate forklifts (where permitted)
- Strong attention to pricing and inventory accuracy
