Overview

We are seeking a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our team. Compensation includes a base hourly rate of $13.00 to $16.00 per hour, with a commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process. Our retail associates can earn up to 8% commission on transactions, which could average an additional amount on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry-level, part-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate collaborates with the store staff to ensure customer service on both lending and retail transactions. The role involves greeting, engaging, and assisting customers to process sales, loans, and other transactions. The associate works with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

The Part-Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate position offers an hourly wage with commission based on productivity. Actual pay will be based on factors such as work location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Greets and interacts with customers to develop rapport and provide appropriate financial solutions.
  • Performs non-management open/close procedures.
  • Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains merchandise displays.
  • Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles cash and negotiable items per established policies and requirements.
  • Answers incoming calls per company standards.
  • Effectively communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers and supports a positive customer experience.
  • Completes assigned training successfully.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
  • Employees may assist customers in exterior areas (parking lots) or retrieve products stored in exterior storage.
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
  • Cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to work at multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and common office machines.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on personal performance. Additional details are provided during the interview process.
