Overview

We are currently looking for the right Retail Store Management Trainee to join our Team. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast-tracking” into a Store Management position. This role requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience. Pay rate: $17.00 to $26.91 per hour.

Our retail sales associates can earn UP TO 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $3.44 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store and promoting a positive/productive environment. This position partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction.

This role sets the tone for a customer-centric environment. It also involves analyzing store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met, committing to asset protection, and targeting new customer acquisitions. The position requires handling a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

This position offers an hourly wage, plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities of a Store Management Trainee

  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
  • Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, manage cash drawers and merchandise, and protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and secure customer loans.
  • Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, systems, and reporting.
  • Evaluate store financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure loan value and integrity.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development as requested.
  • Communicate clearly with employees to align with the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
  • The Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting) per laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
