The Clarksville Financial Center is expected to open in May 2026. This position will report to another Ascend branch until Clarksville opens.
What You Will Do EverydayUnder the direction of the Branch Manager, develop new business through the promotion of Credit Union services to new and existing members. Create a positive member experience by ensuring members receive high quality and courteous service in all interactions. Open and modify accounts (including certificates, IRAs, Coverdell, HSAs, etc.), originate and process consumer loans, and assist members with miscellaneous requests. Serve in the capacity of teller and receptionist as needed.

How You Will Make an ImpactMember Service:
- Provide consistent, courteous and personal service to members. Communicate with all AFCU members, employees and staff in a friendly, professional manner.
- Analyze member needs, match products/services to maximize member relationships and financial well-being.
- Open consumer account types, youth accounts, certificates, IRAs, Coverdell, HSAs, etc., explain options, prepare documentation and complete transactions.
- Demonstrate automated services (ITM, Online Banking, Bill Pay, ATM) to new and existing members.
- Open and update accounts, process deposits/withdrawals/ transfers, and handle related requests.
- Provide financial counseling as needed and coordinate with business account specialists as appropriate.
- Refer mortgage leads to the mortgage department as needed.
- Process other transactions such as money transfers, check cashing, card issuance, and government savings bond redemptions.
- Investigate member issues or complaints and advise the Branch Manager on warranted remedies.
- Rent safe deposit boxes, issue instant issue cards, and perform related maintenance.
- Maintain account documentation, perform maintenance tasks, and process fraud/theft claims as required.
- Make outbound calls and provide notary/signature guarantee services as needed.
- Operate all automated systems of the credit union as required.
Organizational Goals:
- Responsible for specific, measurable branch goals for deposits, loans, debt protection, GAP and MMP.
- Cross-sell services and refer to marketing for follow-up to meet strategic goals.
- Assist with business development, including on-site visits to potential and existing SEGs.
- Refer potential SEGs to marketing for follow-up.
Loan Service:
- Interview loan applicants, explain options, prepare documents, verify income, obtain credit reports, assess needs, and cross-sell services; finalize loan and disburse funds.
- Notify applicants of loan decisions and ensure disbursement, including Home Equity Lines of Credit; coordinate with underwriters as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of loan products, originate/close, and communicate with underwriters.
- Build relationships with members and explain services and benefits; complete loan paperwork and recommend ancillary products where appropriate.
