Job SummaryThe Electronics Design Engineer Intern supports the hardware development lifecycle for advanced tactical equipment within the EOTAK product line. This role contributes to the organization by assisting in the design, prototyping, and testing of electronic circuits and embedded systems. The intern will work alongside senior engineers to develop reliable hardware that performs in demanding environments.
Essential Functions- Assist in the design and schematic capture of analog and digital circuits.
- Perform PCB layout tasks and assist in the assembly of prototype hardware.
- Conduct hardware testing and debugging using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
- Support the integration of low-cost mesh networking hardware, such as LoRa or XBee based systems.
- Document design changes and test results to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
This is an individual contributor role with no responsibility for managing staff.
Minimum Qualifications- Basic understanding of circuit theory, microcontrollers, and embedded systems.
- Experience with C or Python for hardware-level programming or scripting.
- Experience with design software such as KiCAD or Altium.
- Familiarity with electronic components and their functions within a system.
- Hands‑on experience with soldering and basic lab equipment.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Academic or personal project experience involving PCB design and hardware troubleshooting.
- Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping for enclosures and mechanical fitment.
- Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, and reference checks.
- Interest in defense technology and the development of tactical situational awareness tools.
- Experience with LoRaWAN, mesh networking, or RF design.
- Familiarity with Linux-based systems and shell scripting.
- With or without reasonable accommodation, requires the physical and mental capacity to perform effectively all essential functions.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
