Job Summary: Assists the surgical team before, during, and after the surgical procedure. Provides patient care within the prevailing state standards of practice and according to the policies of the facility. Prepares equipment and supplies prior to the case. Communicates appropriate information to other team members. Helps maintain equipment, supplies, and general cleanliness of the unit. May have additional responsibilities designated by the manager, which may include, but are not limited to providing patient care in other peri-operative departments, serving on committees, and participating in quality improvement projects.

Qualifications: Requires high school diploma, current CST certification and valid CPR certification. Proven clinical compentancy required.
Job Behavior: Demonstrates ability to work as a team member and to communicate directly and professionally. Is flexible, reliable, productive, patient-oriented, and self-motivated. Portrays Center in a positive light to others. Avoids being involved in gossip spreading or conversations that promote discord of staff members. Maintains professional conduct and appearance.

Language Skills
:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, physicians and other employees.
Physical Demands: Shall be physically able to stand, walk, and maintain varied body motions and positions for long periods of time. Demonstrates manual dexterity. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee shall be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools. The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Shall be able to hear and speak. Shall be able to move up to 100 pounds.
Responsible for knowing the processes involved assuring the standards established by HIPAA, and ensuring they are followed including the practices and records relating to the use and disclosure of Protected Health Information.
