SummaryTeachers are responsible for the overall planning and execution of all of their classroom activities to include group teaching and individualized educational plans according to the needs of children. Teachers are responsible for developing lessons and lesson plans and associated activities based on the curriculum and themes. Additionally, teachers are responsible for the supervision of children in their care at all times, this includes being aware of state ratios and knowing how many children are in your care at all times.
This includes both indoor and outdoor play and during classroom activities. Other duties include teaching and enforcing health and safety protocol such as proper handwashing techniques, sanitation procedure, meal service, clean up, positive discipline strategies and creating a low sensory classroom environment.
- Have a clear understanding of Bright From /the Start Guidelines and adhere to those guidelines at all times.
- Keep classroom clean and orderly while adhere to all safety guidelines.
- Assure that children are served meals properly and be sure the surface area where the children are eating is cleaned and sanitized.
- Continuously engage with children during activities such as center-based play, outdoor play, meals, and other times throughout the day.
- Review lesson plans with assistant teacher, providing specific instructions on the goal and activities for each lesson.
- Assist the Director with training the assistant teacher assigned to your class as needed.
- Work as a Team Player with Director and other staff members.

- A strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check.
- Minimum of CDA/Associates in ECE.
- At least 1 Year experience.
- CDA/ECE credential.
- Paid sick and vacation time after 90 days of employment.
