Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

We have an outstanding Contract position for a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join a leading Company located in the Clarksburg, WV surrounding area.

US Citizenship is required.
Candidate must possess an Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.

The Cloud Solutions Architect is a strategic technical leader that develops cloud strategies and translating business objectives into scalable, secure, and cost‑effective architecture solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, Dev Ops best practices, and enterprise systems integration. The architect serves as the highest‑level technical expert and advisor, ensuring the successful delivery of complex cloud‑based solutions that align with organizational goals and future‑state IT strategies.

• Develop and execute enterprise‑wide strategies for cloud platforms supporting current and long‑term business goals.
• Translate business and technical requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient architectural solutions.
• Evaluate cloud service providers and platforms to determine best‑fit technologies for solution design.

• Design and build cloud‑native and hybrid‑cloud solutions that integrate with existing enterprise systems.
• Address systems integration, interoperability, and compatibility across multiple platforms and environments.
• Develop automation strategies and scripts for deploying and managing cloud resources using Dev Ops and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) principles.

• Serve as the technical authority on cloud architecture, guiding teams on complex development and integration efforts.
• Lead feasibility analyses, proofs‑of‑concept, and pilot initiatives to evaluate new technologies or approaches.
• Oversee the completion of cloud solution projects, ensuring they meet architecture standards, security requirements, and business objectives.

• Establish cloud architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices for development and deployment.
• Contribute to cloud governance frameworks, risk management strategies, and compliance efforts.

• Partner with business units, IT leaders, and cross‑functional teams to align cloud solutions with enterprise goals.
• Present architectural concepts and recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including executive management.

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software development or systems architecture, with 4+ years focused on cloud architecture and solutions.
• Proven experience designing and implementing solutions in cloud architectures.
• Advanced knowledge of Dev Ops, CI/CD, IaC tools (Terraform, Cloud Formation, etc.), and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Strong experience with systems integration, multi‑platform environments, and microservices architecture.
• Ability to lead large development teams and complex enterprise initiatives.

• Professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
• Experience with hybrid and multi‑cloud strategies, legacy system integration, and cloud cost optimization.
• Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, FedRAMP).
• Strong communication, leadership, and decision‑making skills.
