The Louis A Johnson Clarksburg VAMC is looking for a Vascular Surgeon to join our team. The VA offers long-term career satisfaction through access to state-of-the-art technologies, pioneering research opportunities, mentorship, leadership and educational programs, and tools to serve Veterans best.
Position location: Clarksburg VA Medical Center, Clarksburg, WV.
Responsibilities- Open and endovascular AAA surgical repair.
- Dialysis access procedures.
- Diagnostic and interventional angiography including mesenteric and peripheral vascular.
- Lower extremity bypass.
- Open and endovascular carotid surgery.
- Supervision/teaching of surgical residents.
- Provide consultation in outpatient clinics and on inpatient wards.
- Initial evaluation and overall workups, history and physicals, and admission of vascular surgery patients as needed.
- Participation in committees.
Excellent work schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm; on-call responsibilities as required. Schedule subject to service/medical center needs.

EDRP Authorized: Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program. Eligibility requirements apply; submit EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval and program details determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office.
Pay: Competitive salary (300K-400K), annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.
Paid Time Off: 50–55 days of paid time off per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays, and possible 5 days CME).
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% VA contributions.
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care.
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US state or territory.
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (full-time with board certification).
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage.
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract.
Contract Buyout Program: May be eligible for the Physician contract buy-out program for rural or highly rural facilities, subject to service obligations.
