We are seeking a Senior Scientist I to join in the Hair Care & Style Application Domain, you’ll report to the AVP of the Hair Care & Style Application Domain and work within a dynamic team of eight. You’ll be collaborating with global leads and cross-functional teams like Advanced Research and Hair Care & Style Formulation Development. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative projects in hair care science while driving advancements in green-driven formulation and hair fiber science.
ADay In The Life
- Formulation Expertise:
Develop and optimize hair care & style formulations, leveraging your knowledge of ingredient chemistry and hair fiber science. - Innovation & Sustainability:
Drive green-driven formulation initiatives, contributing to L’Oréal’s sustainability goals. - Collaboration:
Partner with Advanced Research and Hair Care & Style Formulation Development teams to ensure project quality and risk management. - Planning & Execution:
Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to meet objectives effectively. - Project Management:
Manage projects within the Hair Care & Style Application Domain, ensuring alignment with global strategies. - Digital Innovation & Transformation:
Leverage digital tools, data-driven methodologies, and predictive modeling to accelerate formulation.
- Education:
A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a scientific field (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Materials Science) or engineering (e.g., Chemical, Materials, Biomedical) is required. - Experience:
3-5 years of experience (PhD) or 5-7 years (Bachelor’s/Master’s) in a relevant field. - Expertise in hair care formulation (preferred) and hair fiber science (preferred).
- Experience in digital tools and data-driven methodologies to accelerate formulation preferred (ex: proficiency in Design of Experiments (DoE) and predictive modeling).
- Proficiency in chemistry of formulas, project planning management, and green-driven formulation.
- Project Management & Organization:
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects concurrently, and effectively navigate a matrix organization. - Communication & Presentation
Skills:
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex technical information to large groups of professionals. - Global Collaboration & Communication:
Experience working in international, multi-disciplinary environments with global teams, and excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) for diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical. - Strategic Thinking & Creativity: A strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to think "outside the box" and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- The ability to be onsite, in the office as this is an essential function of the position (required).
