We are seeking a Chemist to join our Skincare Development team in our Clark, NJ facility for Research & Innovation. This role is responsible for creating, coordinating, and implementing innovative skincare product development programs to support our Consumer Product Division innovation strategies. In this role you will develop technically robust formulation solutions that adhere to safety, regulatory and quality best practices/requirements.
You will initiate lab scale experimentation, evaluation, compatibility and stability studies to ensure smooth transition of innovative products through the product development process culminating in transfer to manufacturing. This role requires the ability to work in a matrix reporting organization and function in a team consensus environment with both local R&I and International Teams.
- Develop new and robust skin care formulations correlating the relationship between ingredients and performance.
- Team-working collaboration in order to deliver on aggressive timelines with maximized operational efficiency and support.
- Be knowledgeable and consider the importance of processing, operating, and design factors that affect skin care formulations.
- Show creativity and resourcefulness to come up with solutions to issues, which may arise during product development and/or in anticipation of issues which may appear in pilot plant or manufacturing.
- Support brands post-launch animation including participation in lab events with external guest showcasing the formulation expertise and superiority of the brands.
- Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Data Science, or a related scientific/engineering discipline is required. A Master's degree is a plus. - Experience:
1-3 years of hands-on experience in formulation research, ideally in a personal care or cosmetic field. - Experience in Skincare a plus.
- Proven experience in Research & Development, demonstrating a project-oriented mindset focused on delivering robust, innovative, and highly functional products.
