The Quality Representative works in the Quality department on the Quality Management team. In this role, you play a pivotal part in ensuring that our products are produced in compliance with the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), L’Oreal’s Quality standards, and meet or exceed the expectations of our customers and consumers. Your primary day-to-day responsibility is the hands-on inspection of Finished Goods (FG), the meticulous review of quality documentation, and the coordination of samples to internal stakeholders for approvals.
Through these tasks, you will identify the conformance of each production lot, thereby managing the appropriate dispositions in our SAP system. When nonconformances are identified, timely communication is key, ensuring the Contract Manufacturers (CMs) can quickly determine the root cause and implement effective Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) to mitigate further nonconformances. In this role, attention to detail while acting with a sense of urgency helps maintain L'Oréal’s reputation for excellence and consumer safety.
You Will Learn
- Ensure product compliance with L’Oreal’s Standard Procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
- Issue Nonconformance notices and follow up on Root Cause Analysis/Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Support contract manufacturers (CM) on status of Quality nonconformities including investigations and problem solving. Assess risk which may impact product safety or compliance.
- Ensure that CAPAs are initiated, assigned, thoroughly investigated, documented and effectively resolved when deficiencies are found during development, testing, and manufacturing.
- Provide support to the Quality Manager (QM) with the quality agreement between L’Oreal and Contract Manufacturers (CM)
- Maintain accurate data, spreadsheets and records in shared Quality group directory
- Train/Coach/Assist current & new CMs to ensure understanding of quality requirements
- Participate in and manage the product certification program (CC & CC+)
- Perform product inspection and manage the quality disposition process for FGs, PCs, bulk, WIPS in WISE as necessary
- Perform the documentation review process to ensure compliance with established quality requirements
- Support the QMs in the review and approval of rework instructions for reworks to be done by a L'Oreal DC or L'Oreal managed 3rd party.
- Coordinate the samples for approval for R&I, Mktg, confirmatory micro, or other stakeholders as necessary
- Support the training of new team members on test methods and procedures
- Creation and issuance of costing blue books to Sourcing/Development.
- Support DGO/Internal audits
- Maintain GLPs such as housekeeping, standard management, calibration, equipment management, etc.
- This position could require 10% travel - more local.
- Bachelor's degree, Science or Engineering is preferred.
- 2+ Years’ experience in Industrial Quality, preferably within cosmetics and consumer goods industry
- Knowledge of ISO Standards 9001 and GMP Standards (ISO 22716)
- Cosmetic Regulation (Labeling Regulation for Cosmetics), 21 CFR 210 & 21 CFR 211
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Knowledge in Problem-solving techniques
- Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc)
- SAP Experience
- Strong attention to detail and desire to follow procedures
- Good communication and organization skills
