Summary
The Industrial Engineer (IE) will play a critical role in optimizing production processes, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring high-quality output across the manufacturing line. This position partners closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Planning teams to analyze workflows, implement cost-effective solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The IE ensures that systems, layout, manpower allocation, and material flow support safe, scalable, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance throughput.
- Develop time studies, line balancing, capacity modeling, and headcount planning.
- Lead and implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and other process improvement initiatives.
- Design and update plant layout, workstations, and material flow to support efficiency and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions (NPI) and equipment installations.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP), work instructions, and production guidelines.
- Evaluate tools, equipment, and fixtures to ensure suitability and cost efficiency.
- Monitor production KPIs and perform root cause analysis for performance gaps.
- Drive cost-reduction projects and support continuous improvement culture.
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing or soft-goods/consumer goods production is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and process improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in time & motion study, line balancing, and capacity planning.
- Familiar with AutoCAD, Solid Works, or similar tools for layout/fixture design.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling fast-paced manufacturing operations.
