We are currently seeking an IQCP Engineer, where you will provide technical support to accelerate packaging material safety and quality conception validations, while ensuring rigorous compliance with L'Oréal standards and international legislation. You will execute established quality frameworks, maintain documentation integrity for audit readiness, and support the implementation of evolving material compliance processes across North America. By leveraging KPI data and executing corresponding action plans, you will implement targeted action plans that preempt non-compliances and drive operational excellence.
Serving as a digital key user of IQCP-governed tools and digital processes, you will enhance overall departmental efficiency across North America. You will participate in transversal conception quality initiatives. This role sits out of our Clark, New Jersey Operations Hub.
1. Operational Quality & Technical Design
- System Execution:
Support the daily application of the SQCP system to ensure "Quality by Design" is integrated throughout the packaging lifecycle. - Documentation & Traceability:
Execute best practices for documentation and traceability to facilitate and expedite risk assessments, and to maintain audit readiness. - Training Support:
Assist in the development and delivery of Product Quality Standards training to cross-functional partners, to increase organizational autonomy and ensure team-wide proficiency.
- Compliance Validation:
Support North American regulatory campaigns and utilize global tools to proactively ensure material compliance. - Supplier Technical Engagement:
Apply established standards for supplier safety policies, by coordinating with cross-functional partners (PKG, C&A, DEV, Sourcing) to ensure material compliance, data accuracy, and full traceability. - Risk Identification and Resolution:
Perform initial technical screenings of materials to identify and resolve potential safety or regulatory bottlenecks early in the development cycle. Collaborate with the Packaging Science Center (PSC) in identifying technical risks and tracking corrective actions for material safety and regulatory topics.
- Performance Improvement:
Track and implement performance improvement initiatives defined by data-driven strategic action plans to drive targeted performance improvements. - Digital Adoption:
Enhance departmental efficiency by acting as a key user for digital architectures under IQCP governance, ensuring data integrity and providing technical guidance on automated submission platforms. - Process Simplification:
Support the adoption of simplified workflows by serving as a primary technical contact for inquiries, guidance, and the aggregation of user feedback.
- Cross-Functional Support:
Partner with cross-functional development teams to troubleshoot Packaging Conception Quality hurdles during the conception phase, ensuring seamless project progression and adherence to launch timelines. - Prioritization Alignment:
As-needed, develop summaries for high-priority projects and associated open risks, to support rapid alignment and senior-level decision-making. - Cross-Functional Support:
Collaborate with R&I and Operations partners to ensure project-level alignment with safety and quality objectives.
- Education:
A completed Packaging Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related technical discipline is required - Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in product packaging development or quality (including internships), preferably related to cosmetics or consumer goods.
- Experience in cosmetics, consumer goods, or related field is preferred
- Foundational understanding of packaging materials, their applications, and technical risks.
