Our Ports & Maritime team is seeking a Senior Port Planner to lead planning and design efforts for major port and harbor infrastructure projects across the Northeast and Mid‑Atlantic Region and beyond. This role involves developing strategic master plans, optimizing port layouts, and ensuring compliance with international standards for maritime operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing port master plans, feasibility studies, terminal layouts, and capacity assessments for container terminals, bulk cargo facilities, and multi‑purpose ports.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on infrastructure design, including quay walls, upland yards, breakwaters, dredging plans, and navigation channels needed for safe and efficient terminal operations.
  • Conducting operational and traffic flow analysis to optimize port efficiency and safety.
  • Preparing technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable standards and environmental regulations.
  • Engaging with clients, port authorities, and regulatory agencies to support project approvals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Coastal, or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning and layout of port facilities and a good understanding of port operations and equipment (preferably for container terminals).
  • Substantial years experience with a proven track record in delivering port master plans, design and/or planning of marine terminals or marine infrastructure projects.
  • Strong communication and client‑facing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Knowledge of sustainable port development, port electrification, and climate resilience strategies for ports.
  • Experience with international port projects and global best practices.
  • Ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.

The base salary range for this position is $ to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
