The City of Charles City is seeking a dependable, hands-on professional to work in our Water Treatment Plant and water distribution system. This role plays a vital part in providing safe, reliable water to every home and business in the community.
Pay:
- Starting at $23.08/hour
- Up to $29.61/hour with Iowa DNR Water Operator certification (training supported)

What You’ll Do:
- Operate and maintain the water treatment plant
- Maintain and repair the city’s water distribution system
- Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues
- Perform physical work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week with excellent benefits
- Monday-Friday; 7AM-3:30 PM
- On-call rotation: one week on, two weeks off (24/7 availability during on-call week)
