Overview
Claremont Manor Retirement Community seeks a FT Cook to join the team!
Sunday-Thursday: 10:30am-7:30pm
Hourly: $25.00-$27.00
Responsibilities- Under the supervision of the Dietary Services Director or Executive Chef, prepare culinary items for residents and execute the menu to a high standard of appearance, taste, and presentation.
- Provide quality customer service to residents, families, co-workers and vendors to ensure satisfaction and assist in maintaining service standards.
- Assist in food preparation to produce high-quality, consistent taste and presentation; expedite during peak meal periods as needed.
- Help control food cost by training kitchen staff on proper methods of preparation, handling of leftovers, and cost-saving practices.
- Ensure uniform, grooming, and appearance standards are followed by all kitchen staff.
- Assist in developing standardized recipes and in menu planning as directed by the Director of Dining Services and/or Executive Chef.
- Ensure appropriate quantities of food are prepared to meet menu requirements and service schedules.
- Maintain care and cleanliness of equipment and related work areas; monitor safety and sanitation in accordance with health department guidelines.
- Establish goals with the kitchen leadership; anticipate and resolve problems relating to all facets of the kitchen; pursue approved profit-oriented and cost-saving ideas.
- Maintain effective communication within the kitchen; be responsive to staff suggestions and concerns and work to resolve problems.
- Supervise cooks, assistant cooks, and food service workers as assigned; participate in hiring, training, and performance management where applicable.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen, dishwashing areas, and coolers and promptly correct deficiencies found during inspections.
- Follow department safety standards and participate in campus-wide safety programs; observe fire and disaster plans and emergency procedures.
Essential:
- Serv Safe or Equivalent Certification required
Essential:
- High School diploma or GED
Nonessential:
- 0 Year 2-4 years related experience and/or training
- 0 Year 3-6 months related experience and/or training
