Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Adjunct Faculty member is teaching. We are seeking adjunct instructors to teach the following course at Keck Graduate Institute (KGI):
ENG 5160 Introduction to Bioprocessing (Spring, 1.5 credits)
Course Description
Bioprocessing is the basis for manufacture of products to allow the translation of discoveries in life sciences to viable healthcare treatments. This course provides basic background in biotechnology and describes the operations used by bioprocess engineers in design of production facilities. The primary goal of this course is to provide students with the understanding of principles of biomanufacturing to enable successful product development and commercialization.
Business, scientific and practical industrial aspects will be presented through a series of lectures, interactive discussions and student group presentations.
The successful candidate must share in the mission of KGI and the Riggs School of Applied Life Sciences Programs. The Adjunct Faculty member reports directly to the Dean and works collaboratively with the Program Directors and other faculty.
Located in beautiful Claremont, California, Keck Graduate Institute is a member of the prestigious Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate liberal arts colleges, two graduate institutions, and The Claremont Colleges Services, which provide shared institutional support services.
Education And Experience
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in a related field. A doctoral degree is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
- Prior experience in teaching for active learning preferred.
- Experience with the Canvas learning management system is a plus.
