Medical Technologist & Lab Technician, Radiologic Technologist / CT Tech
Overview
Sign on Bonus Eligible $30,000 (3 year commitment). This full time, night shift position offers 10-hour shifts, following an 8 days on, 6 days off rotation.
General Overview:
Performs prescribed CT imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.
- Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results. (50%)
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient s understanding and cooperation. (20%)
- When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. (15%)
- Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. (15%)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum
- Associate degree; or Certification from a technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Radiography Certification and Registration (R) or ARRT– Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification and Registration (N) or ARRT– Radiation Therapy Certification and Registration (RT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
- Computed Tomography (CT) Certification is required within 18 months of hire. Employees in a CT role prior to July 1, 2022, who do not have a CT certification are not required to obtain them; employees in a CT role with existing CT certification are required to maintain active certifications. Employees hired or transferred into the CT role on/after July 1, 2022, are also required to maintain active certifications.

- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
