The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to act as a vital liaison between our distribution center, freight forwarders, and global customers. In this role, you will manage the flow of domestic and international shipments, ensuring every order is routed efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to global shipping regulations. You will analyze transportation data to recommend cost-saving improvements and ensure our customers receive world-class service at competitive rates.

You’ll Do
  • Shipment Coordination:
    Expedite domestic and international orders by syncing activities between customer service, the warehouse, and packing teams.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    Prepare and submit essential shipping documents (Air, Sea, and Land) in accordance with DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations.
  • Carrier Management:
    Secure bookings with steamship lines, freight forwarders, and consolidators; arrange consolidations to optimize cost and delivery speed.
  • Hazardous Materials Liaison:
    Serve as a subject matter expert for moving hazardous/dangerous goods (coordinating logistics only; no physical handling required).
  • Troubleshooting:
    Act as the primary point of contact for lost or damaged shipments, resolving customer concerns and navigating claims with brokers.
  • Supply Chain Support:
    Manage administrative and warehouse supply levels, ensuring consistent replenishment and organized digital/paper filing systems.
What You’ll Bring to the Table
  • Education:

    High School Diploma, GED, or HSED required.
  • Experience:

    1–3 years in Logistics, Warehousing, or Supply Chain operations.
  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    Familiarity with shipping requirements for hazardous materials;
    Hazardous Material Certification (CFR 49, IATA, IMDG) is highly preferred.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with office hardware (scanners, printers, etc.).
  • Professionalism: strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of staff and outside vendors.
  • Reliability:
    Exemplary attendance and a commitment to Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
Environmental Note

This position is based in a distribution/warehouse environment. While the role is administrative, you may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts or in areas that are wet, humid, or temperature-variant. Occasional use of PPE (safety glasses, shoes, etc.) may be required when entering specific zones.

Responsibilities
  • Expedites shipments by coordinating activities of customer service representatives, the distribution center, and international packing to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Obtain, prepare and submit documentation for shipment booking both domestic and international.
  • Obtain booking with steamship lines, freight forwarders and consolidators; and arrange consolidations to ensure efficient, cost effective and timely delivery of shipments.
  • Supply management for both administrative and warehouses, ordering of supplies, managing replenishment levels.
  • Seeks and recommends new sources or avenues to move hazardous material by obtaining data and recommending appropriate improvement in rates, services, and hazardous shipping knowledge to customers and affiliates.
  • Serves as liaison between freight forwarders, freight brokers and customers. Handles trouble shooting for lost or damaged shipments and customer questions or concerns.
  • Arranges consolidation to affiliate locations.
  • Prepares and present all documentation to customer and shipping authorities.
  • Provides documentation for multi-hazard class chemical shipments.
  • Maintain, control, and organize electronic and paper document files.
  • Miscellaneous duties and tasks as required.
  • Exemplary attendance and adherence to schedule.
  • Must follow all good distribution practices (GDP), where applicable.
