Overview

Develop, monitor, supervise, and train young men to play competitive Soccer. Develop and execute an effective training program. Motivate and mentor young men on and off the field. Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and skills development. Manage game strategies and game day logistics. Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes.

Cooperate, in a timely manner, with School Athletic Director and the District Athletic Department in regard to requests for information that might be pertinent and/or periodically required. Meet all the requirements set forth by the District Board of Education, The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), and The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) relative to the mandated Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/ Certification and the ODE Pupil Activity Permit.

Check the status of academic eligibility for all prospective student-athletes. Follow the District Athletic Department Policies as outlined in the Coaches Handbook and meet all criteria as outlined in the job description. Model the behavior expected of our student-athletes including timeliness to practices and games, being positive and enthusiastic, being respectful, and practicing constructive criticism while upholding the disciplines of the program.

Maintain a suitable sideline conduct, including the use of appropriate language, at all times. Accept and profit from constructive criticism and suggestions for improving coaching performance. Recognize the need to be aware of and implement all applicable administrative polices set forth by the District Board of Education, Superintendents of Schools, School Principals, Conference Leagues, ODE, and OHSAA. Schedule and complete a full season of contests including State Tournament Games.

Provide all applicable in-season training rules as well as any that may apply to out-of-season conduct to student-athletes prior to the start of the season. Follow appropriate due process procedures when violations occur. Participate in Clinics and other available programs to improve coaching performance. Participate in School events (i.e., Awards Night, Pep Assemblies, Athletic Boosters Meetings, etc.). Ensure that team is well-prepared for opponents.

Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.

  • Fundraising experience
  • Must be passionate and dedicated to inspire student-athletes.
  • Previous High School coaching experience preferred.
  • Have the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
  • Serve as a positive role model.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with the sport.
