This person will be joining the Enterprise Data Organization on a team of developers supporting applications within the enterprise data org and modernizing the core platform for banks optimisation. The team currently uses a legacy tech stack – client‑side Java 8 with Swing components – and T‑SQL stored procedures in Microsoft SQL Server. The goal is to modernise the platform using a more modern architecture such as Spring on AWS.

The role is heavily Swing‑based (≈60%) with an emphasis on Java, and includes a significant amount of T‑SQL work (≈40%).

• Full‑lifecycle application development
• Design, code and debug applications in various software languages
• Software analysis (code, requirements, system risk, reliability)
• Object‑oriented design and analysis (OOA, OOD)
• Software modelling and simulation
• Front‑end GUI design
• Software testing and quality assurance
• Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation
• Support, maintain and document software functionality
• Integrate software with existing systems
• Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
• Maintain standards compliance
• Implement localisation or globalisation of software
• Strong communication skills

• 6+ years of professional Java development experience
• Extensive experience with Swing and T‑SQL
• Familiarity with Spring Boot, microservices, and modern web frameworks (Angular, React, JavaScript)
• Experience in Microsoft SQL Server backend development
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging and communication skills
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS) is a plus
• Willingness to work hybrid onsite – 4‑5 days in downtown Cincinnati
