Overview
JOB SUMMARY Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications of HVAC systems. Meet production goals in accordance with Weatherization Programs and all applicable manufacturer’s specifications, federal, state, and local laws as well as PWC policies.
Responsibilities- Complete inspections of all HVAC equipment (water heaters, furnaces, dryers, stoves, any and all fuel burning applications, and electric appliances).
- Collect all information from data plates on the equipment and any other information to complete required paperwork.
- Use all HVAC tools including combustion analyzer, refrigeration gauges, recovery equipment, air meters, leak detectors, manometer, multi-meter, pressure differential equipment, and troubleshooting equipment.
- Maintain an inventory of assigned tools and equipment in good condition.
- Complete accurate and detailed paperwork.
- Load and unload trucks as required, maintaining truck stock to perform regular maintenance.
- Make necessary repairs to all types of heating and cooling equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Troubleshooting technical, electrical and mechanical issues within Residential HVAC systems
- Emergency repairs and identifying maintenance risks
- Ordering and maintaining equipment and parts
- Removing old systems
- Installing new Residential HVAC systems
- Mechanical aptitude
- Understand and follow safety requirements for given tasks and tools
- Able to follow a work order or job estimate and meet time and budget restraints
- Work with clients to explain scope of project, tasks to be performed, maintenance requirements
- Responsible for equipment and materials assigned, maintaining a clean and safe work site
- Complete required recordkeeping in electronic format
- Work in a collaborative environment to problem solve and successfully complete projects
The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities preferred:
- Experience demonstrating the ability to perform required home repair tasks
- Driver’s license and dependable transportation. Must have required insurance for vehicle (required)
- Ability to relate with people of diverse backgrounds
- Work independently, as well as a member of a team to accomplish tasks
- Ability to climb, crawl, bend, stoop, lift up to 80 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders
- Preferred experience of 2 or more years as service HVAC Tech
- Journeyman – KY (preferred)
- EPA universal or obtain once employed
Full-time Salary: From $19-35 per hour (based on experience and certifications)
