CLASS SUMMARY
Responsible for skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of the airport's glycol and stormwater conveyance systems. These systems capture, convey, store, and treat stormwater, primarily, contaminated with spent aircraft deicing fluid. Other duties include doing work in a permit required confined space, snow removal, operating heavy equipment, data entry, environmental operations on-call responsibilities, as well as supporting other needs of the Airport as assigned.
ESSENTIALDUTIES
- Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing components in stormwater lines, glycol lines, chemical feed lines and sewer lines.
- Performs Preventative Maintenance tasks on various valves.
- Installs, repairs or replaces various valves and pumps.
- Ensures the airport is in compliance with current plumbing codes.
- May perform servicing and testing of other airport plumbing equipment.
- May perform utility locates for departmental assets.
- Performs water main and fire hydrant repair.
- Complete work orders and record time/material utilized.
- Performs on-call duties, specific position assignments will vary based on department and organizational needs.
- Assist with contractors to meet CVG AA standards and developing improvements to environmental operations equipment.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Plumbing experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Required
- Valid Driver’s License
- Commercial Driver’s License – Class A or B (or the ability to acquire a Class B within 6 months of the hire date)
- Kentucky Journeyman License
- Cross Connection and Control Testers license
- Security Identification Display Area Clearance (SIDA)

This position requires driving on the airfield and airfield ramps.
- Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and work groups.
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial-grade plumbing systems, including high-capacity water lines, sewage systems, and pumps.
- Troubleshooting issues with water, steam, and gas piping systems commonly found in large-scale facilities.
- Familiarity with building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards, especially those unique to airports.
- Preventive Maintenance:
Proficiency in maintaining plumbing infrastructure to prevent system failures and ensure reliability. - Blueprint and Plan Interpretation:
Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and plumbing system diagrams. - Communication and Coordination:
Effective communication to coordinate with other trades, document work, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-security environment. - Kentucky State Plumbing Code.
