Night Shift Dual Role Security and Sanitation Lead. King City Gardens, rooted in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a vertically integrated, Level 1 cannabis cultivation company and Cincinnati's largest craft cannabis cultivator. The facility operates over 50,000 square feet of canopy space in Forest Park. The company emphasizes quality, consistency, and integrity with a focus on growing people and community, and is locally owned and veteran-owned.

The Night Shift Dual Role Security and Sanitation Lead is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and cleanliness of the facility during overnight hours. This role combines leadership in security operations with oversight of sanitation protocols, maintaining a secure environment while upholding high standards of hygiene and facility upkeep. The lead will supervise and coordinate night shift activities, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Specific hours are not yet defined, but this will be a second or third shift position. Daily duties will predominantly involve sanitation tasks.

• Security Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both internal and external, to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential security risks.
• Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to alerts or suspicious activities.
• Control access to the facility, verifying credentials for all individuals entering and exiting, and maintaining accurate visitor and contractor logs.
• Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, taking appropriate action as per established protocols, including contacting emergency services when necessary.
• Prepare detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and other documentation related to security operations.
• Ensure the proper functioning of all security equipment and systems, reporting any malfunctions for immediate repair.
• Provide guidance and training to junior security personnel, ensuring adherence to security procedures and policies.

• Sanitation Responsibilities

• Oversee and actively participate in the deep cleaning and sanitization of designated areas, machinery, and equipment during the night shift, adhering to Standard Sanitary Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including OSHA, FDA, or USDA standards as applicable to the facility.
• Manage waste disposal procedures, including the proper segregation, removal, and documentation of general and hazardous waste.
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify areas requiring attention and to ensure sanitation standards are consistently met.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, initiating requisitions for replenishment and ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
• Lead and supervise the night shift sanitation operations, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training on cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
• Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and procedures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

• Dual Role & Leadership Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for all security and sanitation matters during the night shift.
• Foster a culture of safety, security, and cleanliness among all night shift personnel.
• Collaborate with day shift leads and management to ensure seamless transitions and consistent operational standards.
• Identify and address potential overlaps or efficiencies between security patrols and sanitation inspections.
• Train and mentor team members in both security and sanitation roles, promoting cross-functional understanding where beneficial.
• Ensure all team members adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for both security and sanitation operations.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial sanitation or custodial services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
• Experience working night shifts is essential.
• Strong and independent worker. Self motivated.

Certifications & Licenses

• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
• Relevant sanitation certifications (e.g., HACCP, OSHA safety training) are highly desirable.
• Ohio guard card is a plus.
