BSOC Central Station Event Analyst II (7 AM – 3:30 PM)
Join Fifth Third Bank in a key security role at the Bancorp Security Operations Center (BSOC), the 24/7 global crisis monitoring and reporting center that safeguards colleagues, customers and the company across the enterprise.
Responsibilities- Respond to alarm signals and life‑safety devices such as fire alarms, panic, medical, etc.
- Handle emergency and non‑emergency inbound calls, including workplace violence, bank robbery, medical emergencies, active aggressors, etc.
- Make outgoing calls and dispatch appropriate authorities.
- Operate all BSOC equipment and peripheral equipment under supervision.
- Interact with internal and external customers via telephone, email and in person, promoting a positive service atmosphere.
- Create reports and maintain detailed logs of all calls and activities.
- Coordinate response with security and non‑security colleagues to resolve issues.
- Monitor complex alarm and surveillance systems and coordinate appropriate responses to alerts.
- Demonstrate excellent customer‑service skills when communicating with field, branch or home‑office partners.
- Respond to initial emergency issues and coordinate appropriate actions per policy.
- Accurately report incidents regarding theft, safety, and other threat issues.
- Monitor security and safety for all colleagues, including traveling staff.
- Monitor access control, burglar alarms, fire safety systems and CCTV, coordinating issue resolution with the enterprise physical‑security team.
- Monitor internet, social media, news and vendor media sources for global security issues, following protocols in emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by SOC leadership.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
- 1‑3 years of 911 dispatching or emergency communications experience, or a law‑enforcement or criminal‑justice related background.
- Completion of 4‑week on‑the‑job training.
- Completion of critical skills tests (CSAA testing, PACOM, March Training).
- Ability to defuse emotional situations and deliver safety instructions.
- Ability to multi‑task and work a flexible schedule (days, evenings, nights and weekends, total 40 hours per week with occasional overtime).
- Work effectively within a high‑intensity environment responding to inbound calls about suspicious activity and security events.
- Competency to perform all disaster recovery tasks, including BSOC operation.
- Self‑motivated problem‑solver with analytical skills.
- Good organizational, time‑management and multi‑tasking skills.
- Team‑oriented, collaborative mindset.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills (30 wpm).
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- General office environment in a central station setting.
- Extended computer‑monitor viewing.
- May require minimal domestic travel.
The base salary for this position is competitive and reflective of the range for this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on role, skillset, experience, education and location.
