The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine is offering a one‑year fellowship in orthopaedic research. The fellowship runs typically from June 2026 through June 2027. The fellow will manage ten or more clinical research projects under one‑on‑one mentorship from orthopaedic faculty.
Essential Functions- See orthopaedic clinical trial participants in the hospital as well as in the clinic.
- Conduct research experiments in a particular field within the pre‑determined research scope and methodology.
- Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas that promote current research.
- Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts, and presentations of research results.
- Participate or assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations; may assist in grant writing.
- Keep informed of developments in the field to maintain and enhance professional expertise.
- Maintain the laboratory, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies, as needed.
- May teach techniques to others, train, and mentor junior research staff.
- Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
- Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members.
- Perform related duties based on departmental needs.
Doctoral degree in the appropriate field or discipline, or the recognized terminal degree.
Required Experience- In‑depth knowledge of a specialized field, process, or discipline.
- May require experience with specialized software programs.
- Office environment – no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.

Salary and hourly pay rate information vary by position and FTE status.
