Job OverviewThe P&G Digital Accelerator@UC is seeking an environmental scientist to help develop novel methods to assess environmental hazard profile of polymers. The successful candidate will help design and execute experiments that are tailored to evaluate the bioavailability and environmental hazard of polymers in environmentally relevant exposure scenarios.
Essential Functions- Conduct research experiments to assess environmental hazard for polymers including experimental design, laboratory execution, data analysis, and statistical quality control etc.
- Collaborate with scientists at the University of Cincinnati as well as Procter & Gamble to develop novel methods and capabilities.
- PhD Degree in environmental science including environmental toxicology, molecular biology, environmental risk assessment, or closely related areas.
- Solid understanding of chemical Phys/chem properties.
- Strong experimental design and problem‑solving skills.
- Engage trainings that is needed for job performance such as safety, data analysis and quality control.
- Strong "wet lab" skills, hands‑on laboratory experience in standard regulatory environmental hazard methods will be preferred (e.g., OECD/EPA/ISO methods for algae, invertebrates, fish alternative approaches).
- Experience with Environmental analytical chemistry, such as measurement tools, will be a plus.
- Demonstrated attention to detail is critical. Must be able to critically evaluate complex data sets and apply new approaches to solve complex environmental testing questions.
- The individual must be a team player with a "Roll up your sleeves" attitude and able to partner with a multi‑functional team to define and execute against experimental requirements.
- Excellent adaptability and flexibility, and most importantly excellent learning capabilities with an open mindset.
