A full-time Research Assistant position is available for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals in the laboratory of Michelle Kossack, PhD in the Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The Kossack lab uses zebrafish to understand the effects of environmental contaminants on female reproductive health. Staff will support research studies in the lab and will maintain the zebrafish facility.
EssentialFunctions
- Perform experiments and record data according to research protocol.
- Assist with the coordination of research studies related to female reproductive toxicology.
- Make independent contributions to projects and studies based on experience.
- Feed and maintain the zebrafish facility and equipment.
- Develop and organize SOPs for the lab and fish care.
- Contribute to data collection through confocal imaging, image analysis and quantification, and technique development.
- Organize protocols, data, and results in an efficient and sharable manner.
- Be able to manage and execute multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Previous laboratory experience.
Additional Qualifications ConsideredExperience with zebrafish husbandry, molecular biology techniques including DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis, and tissue dissection.
